NAIDOC Week 2025

NAIDOC Week is more than a celebration—it’s a responsibility. A call to listen deeply, walk respectfully, and uplift the voices and leadership of First Nations people—not just in ceremony, but in systems, partnerships, and outcomes.

As someone who works across community, consulting, and capacity-building spaces, this year’s theme hits deeply. Because strength is not abstract. I’ve seen it. I’ve stood beside it. And I’ve learned from it.

CSmart Consulting’s year-round commitment stems from our collaborations with various  Aboriginal-led organisations and  through interactions with the many Elders of this community which continue to shape how we embed cultural integrity into everything we do. These interactions have also inspired us to internally develop branding reflective of culture and programs for the community, such as Dreamtime Connections or the ‘Blak Santa Christmas Party’,

This year’s NAIDOC theme, “Strength, Vision & Legacy”, echoes through every conversation we’re privileged to be part of. At CSmart, we are committed to showing up as true allies, not through tokenism, but through culturally informed procurement, partnerships, and leadership engagement. Not just during NAIDOC, but in the daily systems we influence and improve.

The Dreamtime Southern X Rocks walking tour reaffirmed for our team that walking alongside community begins with literally walking on Country—listening, learning, and allowing space for the uncomfortable truths that sit beneath the surface of modern Australia.

To our Aboriginal partners, Elders, storytellers and trailblazers –  Thank you!

Thank you for your strength, your teachings, your legacy and your trust.

At CSmart Consulting, reconciliation is not a project—it’s a practice. First Nations wisdom is not an afterthought – it’s a foundation. Because if we are talking about legacy, we must ask: What are we leaving behind? Who are we building with (or without)!

So this NAIDOC Week we honour our Elders – past and present and acknowledge the pain that still exists. We celebrate the power, brilliance and joy of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and reaffirm our commitment to walk respectfully, act with accountability, and contribute to the Australia we all deserve to call home.
